1 point is awarded where the following occurs:
- The lighting power density is reduced by at least 10% below the maximum lighting power density allowable in Table J6.2a. This requirement applies to both sole-occupancy units and all common areas accessible by residents. Allowances may NOT be traded between sole-occupancy units and other parts of the building;
- Independent light switching must be provided to each room of each sole-occupancy unit. Where open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas are provided, each functional area must be separately switched; and
- All common areas accessible by residents must be provided with automated lighting control system(s), such as occupant detection and daylight adjustment.
